The Oral Roberts University women’s golf team finished sixth out of 15 teams at the Daniel Island Invitational, held March 2-3 at the Daniel Island Club in South Carolina. The event took place on a par-72 course measuring 6,166 yards, with an average tournament score of 75.50.
Oral Roberts recorded rounds of 298, 292, and 290 to end the tournament sixteen-over par. High Point University secured first place by shooting even par over three rounds. Marie Madsen was the individual winner, finishing seven under par with scores of 70, 71, and 68.
Anna Swan led Oral Roberts individually by placing tied for eleventh after shooting even-par rounds of 71, 73, and 72. Avery Blake followed four shots behind Swan with scores of 72, 74, and 74 to finish tied for eighteenth at four-over par. Freshman Khloe Jones posted rounds of 79, 72, and 73 to tie for twenty-ninth at eight-over par.
Lydia Swan finished tied for forty-first after carding rounds of 81, 74, and a final round under-par score of 71. Jayla Kucy completed her tournament twelve-over par with scores of 76, 73, and 79.
Other team results included NC State in second place at six-over par; Xavier and East Carolina tied for third at twelve-over; Furman in fifth at thirteen-over; James Madison and Charleston tied for seventh at twenty-five over; Charleston Southern ninth at thirty-one over; Delaware and Charlotte tied for tenth at thirty-two over; Western Kentucky twelfth at thirty-five over; Coastal Carolina thirteenth at thirty-six over; Elon fourteenth at forty-seven over; Georgetown fifteenth at sixty-seven over.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to compete next in the Spring Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada from March 16-17.
