Cost of college went up for all students at the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology

In-state tuition and fees rose 5.7 percent for 2018-19 at the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Oklahoma residents paid $5,550 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $300 more than the $5,250 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 101.1 percent more than residents this year, or $11,160. Their price tag grew 2.8 percent from $10,860 in 2017-18.

About 92 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Oklahoma residents. About 7 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 646 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.4 million and 403 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.4 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,401), 2,036 students used grants or scholarships totaling $11.7 million, and 1,177 students took out $7.3 million in federal student loans.
