REI Oklahoma's Dream Big Awards Ceremony was held last night at the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort in Shawnee. Okmulgee's own "Miss Mary's Market" was the recipient of the coveted "Dream Big Award", recognizing businesses who build, invest in, and grow Oklahoma's economy. In 2017, Jill Rhodes, founder of Miss Mary's Market, attended GCTC's first Start-Up 101 class for new entrepreneurs and shortly after opened her fresh produce store. Jill and husband Rick's dream was to provide a working environment for their 30 year old daughter, Mary, who has Down Syndrome. The entire Rhodes family is involved in Miss Mary's Market and offer work opportunities for other developmentally challenged individuals in the area. Congratulations to Miss Mary's Market for this outstanding achievement.
