Cameron volleyball honored Natalia Araujo, Jessica Lipkit, and Arianna Navarrete Saturday afternoon after the Aggies closed out the season by falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville 15-25, 18-25, and 24-26 inside the Aggie Gym.
Arianna Navarrete led CU with 11 kills, Caitlyn Henderson collected six, Anjolie Navarrete recorded four kills, Araujo added two, and Lipkit and Trinity Maldonado had one kill.
Anjolie Navarrete served up 16 assists, Alice Tuci dished out five, and Araujo, Henderson, and Meagan Jimenez added one.
Anjolie Navarrete landed three aces, Araujo and Arianna Navarrete scored two, and Henderson and Jimenez had one.
Jimenez led the Black-and-Gold with eight digs, Henderson and Arianna Navarrete scooped seven, Anjolie Navarrete collected six, Araujo added five, and Lipkit and Tuci added three.
Lipkit led the Aggies with six blocks, Anjolie Navarrete and Arianna Navarrete swatted five, Maldonado added four, Henderson knocked down three, and Araujo added two.
Set one opened with the two teams trading scores until they were tied at 9-9. Kingsville would go on a 6-2 run to take a 15-11 lead. CU would cut it to 15-13, but the Javelinas would close the set with a 10-2 rally, taking the opener 25-15.
TAMUK would start with an 8-2 lead. The Aggies would respond with five straight points to cut the score to 8-7. After a 9-2 run Kingsville would extend their lead to 17-9. The Black-and-Gold would respond with a 7-1 rally to cut the deficit to 18-16. The Javelinas would go on a 9-2 run to end the set at 25-18.
The final set opened with Kingsville holding a 9-3 advantage. Cameron would use an 11-3 run to take the lead at 14-12. A quick 6-1 answer would give TAMUK the lead back at 18-16. Kingsville would hold a 21-17 advantage, and the Aggies would wake up to battle back and take a 24-23 lead after a 7-2 run. Kingsville would take three straight points to close the match after a 26-24 set win.
Araujo would amass 268 kills, 319 digs, 161.0 total blocks, and 40 aces. Araujo recorded 89.0 blocks during 2022 to total the 10th most in school history after playing in 233 sets over 71 matches in three seasons.
Lipkit would play 190 sets over 58 matches in two seasons in Lawton. She would record 145 kills, 100 digs, and 184.0 blocks. Her 94.0 blocks this season rank ninth in all-time.
Arianna Navarrete would end her career with 985 kills, 849 digs, and 142.0 blocks in 358 sets played while starting 101 matches. Arianna Navarrete would end her Cameron career second all-time with 24 double-doubles.
