Oklahoma Wesleyan University Women's Basketball Earns Their First Win on the Season

OKWU's Women's Basketball played game two of the OKWU Classic on November 5th at 2:00 PM against the Evangel Valor. Both teams entered to contest 0-1 on the season due to a previous day loss in the OKWU Classic.

With an 84-79 win over Evangel, the Lady Eagles win their 1st game on the season and give Coach Heidi Messer her first Head Coach win.

HIGHLIGHTS

Q2: 21-24

Q4: 30-16

The Lady Eagles trailed early in the game to the Valor, not making a turn around until late in the second half of the game. Having their best quarter in the 4th, the Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Valor 30-16, putting them ahead early into the 4th.

Freshman, Jessa Gilyard came off the bench on fire today. Scoring 22 points of the bench, she had 4 assists, 6 defensive rebounds, and 1 offensive rebound. Along with that, she was 5-5 from the free throw line, 3-5 from the 3-point line, and was 7-10 in field goals made per attempts.

The Lady Eagles ended the day shooting 80% from the free throw line, 38.5% from the 3-point line, and 45% in field goal makes per attempts.
