Lieutenant Chris Mims | Bartlesville Police Department
Lieutenant Chris Mims was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and grew up in Alachua, Florida. He holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Texas College as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Management from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Magna Cum Laude.
Prior to joining Law Enforcement, Lt. Mims was an active-duty Marine. He retired as Master Sergeant with 23 years total service, Combat action in Iraqi Freedom.
Lt. Mims graduated from the police academy in Florida in 1999 and completed the reciprocity to become certified in Oklahoma in 2006.
His Law Enforcement career is quite lengthy and is as follows:
1999-2001 Gainesville Police Department, Florida
2001 – 2006 Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Florida
2006 – Present Bartlesville Police Department
He is a Cleet instructor and he has held instructor certifications in Less Lethal and Taser.
He was a member of the Bartlesville Special Operations Team for 16 years, two of which was as the Team Commander.
What he likes most about working for the Bartlesville Police Department is our relationship with an amazing community and the opportunity to lead and work with some of the most professional and caring officers within the United States.
The one person in his personal life that most inspired him to be the person he is today would be his grandfather, Dan Oliver. The person at the Bartlesville Police Department who has mentored and inspired him above all others would be Captain Kevin Ickleberry.
Lt. Mims is married and has four children ages 24, 21, 18 and 2.
His hobbies are traveling and quality time with his family especially his little 2-year-old guy.
